Johnsonville, in Florence County, is a small town southeast of the Florence metro area. It is served by State Highways 41, 51 and 341, right off the Myrtle Beach Highway (US Highway 378), only a short drive to the ocean beaches.

Another more traditional Southern sport, NASCAR racing, can be found at the nearby Darlington Raceway. It hosted the first stock car race run totally on pavement some 56 years ago, thus claiming the honor of being NASCAR's original super speedway.

Johnsonville is part of the award-winning Florence County School District. The state department of education recently awarded Johnsonville High School the Palmetto Gold Award.

We are also in the midst of what is described as the golf capital of the world. The Wellman Golf Club is just one of 120+ nearby golf courses. There's something here for golfers of all skill levels.
